The convention will begin with a golf tournament on Thursday, September 15, at Osprey Ridge Golf Course, an 18-hole champion course located within very close proximity to the venue. On Thursday evening, we will join for an opening reception at Oak Island where we will reconnect with friends and colleagues while enjoying some food and drink.

On Friday morning, September 16, we will welcome our keynote speaker, Bill Carr. Bill is a well-known and recognized journalist, actor and humorist. Our initial meeting with him left our committee feeling upbeat and excited and wanting to hear more. After lunch, we will hear “Stella’s Story”; many in the profession have already had the opportunity to hear this presentation and we are looking forward to be bringing this presentation to Nova Scotia. Friday evening will see us get dressed up in our finest attire to celebrate the 25th year of Funeral Service school at a reception prior to our President's Banquet and dance.

On Saturday, Sptember 17, we will have a later start in the morning with our Annual General Meeting. After lunch, we will have presentations from Larry Stuart, Jr. and Karl Wenzel. After a bit of a break, and a chance to freshen up and get our dancing shoes on, we will travel to the nearby Shore Club in Hubbards where we will enjoy one of their famous lobster suppers and Saturday nightdances, featuring Nova Scotia's #1 band, The Mellotones. This year marks the 80th anniversary for the lobster suppers and 70th anniversary for the dances. (Alternate menu choice available.) We will have transportation leaving the dance at two separate times so you can leave midway through the evening or stay until the last song is sung!
